Stuart Eydmann and I had a most interesting visit to Dumfries to share our research into local fiddling with DGNHAS. We were particularly pleased to meet Willie & Helen McNairn, pictured here with Stuart. They’d brought a family copy of the tune book of 19c fiddler and tune maker James Porteous from Annandale. Helen is a descendant of the family! Just the kind of connections we love to discover.
